Ledgewood Community Garden Rules
The Ledgewood Community Garden Committee will have overall responsibility for management of the Ledgewood Community Garden(s). The Committee will be responsible for managing the overall maintenance of the garden. Any questions or requests for plots should be directed to the Committee.
Who is invited to have a plot in the Garden?
Any unit owner or renter at LHCA can enjoy an available plot in the Community Garden.
Plots are limited to one plot per unit owner or tenant.
Should any plots remain unassigned, they may be applied for by current plot holders through the Garden Committee for use on a seasonal basis and be surrendered for reassignment at the end of the harvest season.
Plot Assignments:
Current Community Garden Plot assignee's will have preference for the continued use of their assigned plots for following years. Each assignee will be asked by February each year if they intend to plant this year. If not, plots will be assigned to the next gardener on the waiting list.
Gardeners who do not plant a garden in their assigned plot by June 15th of the current year, will give up the assigned plot and the next individual on the waiting list will be assigned the plot.
Garden Rules:
No pets will be allowed in the garden.
Individuals will only pick their own crops unless given permission by another plot user.
Individuals will ensure their crops do not infringe on adjacent plots.
Individuals will ensure that weeds and unwanted grass is kept to a minimum in their assigned plots.
Individuals will be responsible for cleaning/clearing their assigned plots at the end of the growing season. Carry-over crops will be allowed, however the overall appearance of the plot must be clean.
If an individual must abandon a plot during the growing season, the Community Garden Committee must be notified as soon as possible.
Each gardener will pay a $25 usage fee by April 1st each year to contribute to the cost of water and overall maintenance of the garden. This fee will be non-refundable. Annual costs are subject to review by the Board of Directors.
Rule Enforcement:
The Community Garden Committee will be responsible for ensuring the garden rules ar e followed.
